Information on Act LXXIX of 2021 amending certain acts for the protection of children
Act LXXIX of 2021, adopted in June 2021, prohibits minors from accessing "content that is pornographic or that depicts sexuality as having a purpose in itself or that depicts or propagates divergence from self-identity corresponding to sex at birth, sex change or homosexuality". Háttér Society’s report to the Venice Commission analyzes the objectionable circumstances of the adoption of the law by Parliament, the main provisions of the law, the related implementing regulations, the sanctions, the lack of consistency of the law with other Hungarian laws, and the negative impact of the law.
